Core Offering: Tax Business Blueprint Program
The flagship training. Self-paced video modules covering everything you need to prepare tax returns professionally and launch your own practice.
What’s inside:
Tax Preparation Fundamentals (Modules 1–8) Individual returns from simple to moderately complex. W-2 income, self-employment, rental properties, itemized deductions, credits, dependents, filing statuses, and common schedules. You’ll work through practice returns using professional tax software so the first return you prepare for a real client isn’t your first return, period.
Small Business Returns (Modules 9–12) Schedule C, partnerships, S-Corps, and the basics of business income and expense reporting. Most independent preparers avoid small business returns because they weren’t trained on them. You will be.
Legal Compliance (Modules 13–15) Circular 230 obligations, preparer penalties under IRC §6694 and §6695, due diligence requirements for refundable credits, engagement letters, and E&O insurance. This is the content no other training program delivers because no other program is led by an attorney.
Business Formation (Module 16) Entity selection, LLC formation (we help you file), EIN, state registration, PTIN, EFIN, business banking, and insurance. You finish this module with a real business, not a hypothetical one.
AI Tools for Tax Prep (Module 17) How to use AI-assisted preparation tools, when to trust the output, when to override it, and how to quality-check AI-generated positions. Graduates leave as AI-augmented practitioners, not data-entry operators competing with software.
Marketing & Client Acquisition (Module 18) Your first 50 clients. Local marketing strategies, referral network building, pricing your services, and creating a client experience that generates repeat business. Practical steps, not theory.
Advanced Modules (available to Scale members)
As your practice grows, unlock specialized training:
- State-Specific Preparation — Modules covering state-specific filing requirements, credits, and common issues for high-volume states.
- Tax Planning Advisory — How to spot planning opportunities in every return and have the “you should consider an S-Corp” conversation with clients. The skill that turns a $200 return into a $2,000 advisory relationship.
- Tax Debt Resolution — How to build a resolution practice serving clients with IRS problems: unfiled returns, back taxes, installment agreements, offers in compromise, penalty abatement, and lien/levy situations. Expands your services beyond preparation into one of the highest-value areas of tax practice.

Completion timeline:
